Client: University of Melbourne
Location: Building 158 – Sydney Myer Asia Centre
Project: Roof Access Ladder with Architectural Guardrail

This building previously had inadequate access to a narrow roof area requiring periodic maintenance. Works were carried out either by ropes between louvres, or by placing a portable ladder lifted up onto the lower canopy and positioned unsecured beside a live edge. With architecturally designed buildings surrounding the site, a standard industrial style guardrail access system was not suitable.

Hi-Rise developed a custom architectural guardrail and access ladder system that provides safe, secure and compliant access while maintaining the visual aesthetic of the precinct.

The solution delivers a discreet and structurally sound access pathway that aligns with the architectural intent of the building and supports safe ongoing maintenance.

Client: Banco Group
Location: High St Northcote
Project: Custom Stair Supply

Hi-Rise supplied a custom stair system for a site where access requirements had been overlooked in the project. Although the building was nearing completion, no compliant access route had been provided to reach the basement level.

The stair system was custom designed and fabricated in lightweight modular sections to allow installation within a tight basement area with significant space constraints.

The new access stair system now provides safe, reliable entry to critical fire equipment located within the basement, ensuring both compliance and operational practicality.

Client: Port Jackson Towers
Location: Milsons Point, NSW
Project: Temporary Access Solution for Facade Rail installation

Hi-Rise was engaged to provide a temporary access solution for contractors installing a facade rail system at Port Jackson Towers. With no existing anchor points and glass balustrades that could not support rope loads, a non-invasive system was required to protect the facade and allow technicians to work safely.

Hi-Rise supplied the RoofJockey™, a portable artificial high direction system enabling rope access technicians to work safely while protecting all building finishes.

The solution allowed technicians to:
• Keep ropes off glass balustrades
• Position safely with minimal disruption to residents
• Protect surrounding surfaces during installation

This portable, counterweighted system ensured safe access and efficient installation without penetrating the structure or impacting architectural features.

Client: Mirvac
Location: Bourke St, Melbourne
Project: Cooling Tower Fan and Motor Maintenance Access

A tailored access solution was designed, engineered, manufactured and installed by Hi-Rise to enable safe maintenance of upper fan units on rooftop cooling towers at this Bourke Street commercial building.

The system provided safe and efficient access for fan and motor servicing, with all components fabricated as a modular kit in Hi-Rise’s Melbourne facility. This approach allowed the equipment to be transported via internal building lifts and assembled on the rooftop without disruption to building operations.

The result is a practical, fully compliant access system that supports ongoing maintenance while preserving site safety, structural integrity and operational efficiency.

Client: Ritz Carlton
Location: Elizabeth Quay, Perth
Project: Custom Rope Access Needles

Hi-Rise designed and supplied custom lightweight needle systems to support facade maintenance at The Ritz-Carlton. The needles were engineered to integrate with the building’s architecture and were fitted with a monorail anchorage system to provide secure and efficient access across the facade.

Designed for confined and hard-to-reach areas, the system enables rope access technicians to perform inspection and maintenance works safely and efficiently while minimising impact to the building structure and occupants.

Client: CYP
Location: Metro Tunnel – State Library Station
Project: Cooling Tower Access Platform

Hi-Rise designed and fabricated a multi-level access platform system to support maintenance activities within a plant area of the Metro Tunnel Project. The installation comprised two platform levels with perimeter guardrails, dual caged ladders, two stair systems and removable access panels for mechanical service valves.

The platform was purpose-built to provide safe walking access above ground level while accommodating a complex network of pipes and valves below. The upper level enabled secure access to the cooling tower maintenance panels and provided safe entry to the roof area above.

A third-party structural certification was supplied to the client, ensuring full compliance and confidence in the system’s integrity and performance.

This tailored solution enhances safety, accessibility and efficiency within a constrained plant environment.
